
Early in my leadership career, I developed a pattern of finding and pointing out many of the things that were wrong with the processes in my organizations.
With time and experience, I learned that I was likely not being as helpful as I was trying to be.
Processes are and will always be imperfect.

Certainly there may be times when identifying things that are wrong with a process may be effective. However, what I now find more effective is approaching the process with an understanding that there will always be something wrong. The question then shifts from “what is wrong?” to “Is it useful?”
